Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference for students as a Special Education Teacher serving grades 2-5 in a supportive and collaborative learning center. You'll work with a current caseload of nine students—primarily identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Specific Learning Disability (SLD)—with the potential to welcome a few more. As part of a dedicated team, you'll have the daily support of five experienced paraeducators in the classroom. This contract opportunity is based near Danbury, CT, providing an inspiring setting for experienced educators seeking their next adventure.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification (appropriate for grades 2-5) Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring Experience working with students with ASD or SLD preferred Skilled in implementing differentiated instruction strategies Strong communication and collaboration abilities with staff and families Ability to foster a nurturing, structured environment for diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
