Key Qualifications:

Certified as a Special Education Teacher Experience teaching grades 6-8, preferably in a middle school setting Familiarity with autism-specific strategies and supports within a classroom environment Ability to manage and adapt lesson plans to meet individual student needs Strong communication and collaboration skills with families, staff, and related service providers

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction to students in a self-contained autism classroom using evidence-based strategies Develop, implement, and oversee Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate closely with grade-level and special education colleagues to ensure inclusive, comprehensive supports Track and report on student progress, making data-driven adjustments to interventions as needed Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom climate that encourages student engagement and learning
