Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Passionate about creating positive, individualized learning experiences for high school students? Contract opportunities are now open for Special Education Teachers supporting high schoolers in self-contained and resource/co-teaching classrooms. This role focuses on delivering instruction in key academic subjects, including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Small class sizes in self-contained settings (approximately 8 students) or engaging resource/co-taught environments (20-25 students) allow for meaningful connections and impactful instruction.

Key Requirements:

Active Connecticut Special Education Endorsement Demonstrated skill in writing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) At least two years of recent, relevant classroom teaching experience

Responsibilities Include:

Designing and adapting lessons to meet the diverse needs of learners in English, Science, Social Studies, and Math Developing and updating IEPs in collaboration with team members Monitoring and documenting student progress and presenting at IEP meetings Conducting student assessments for academic growth and functional skills Collaborating with general educators in co-teaching/resource settings to ensure student success Participating in IEP meetings and communicating student performance to families as needed
