Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract An exciting contract opportunity is available for a passionate Special Education Teacher looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive educational setting. This full-time role focuses on serving students in a self-contained Social-Emotional Program for grades 3 through 5. The position offers a collaborative environment and a chance to work closely with colleagues dedicated to creating a positive atmosphere for both students and staff. This opportunity features a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, totaling 35 hours each week. The caseload centers on supporting elementary-aged students who benefit from social-emotional programming and personalized instruction. Competitive compensation between $38 and $52 per hour is available, rewarding your experience and commitment to teaching excellence.
Ideal candidates bring:
Current Connecticut Special Education PK-12 licensure (065, 165, or 265 endorsement) Experience working with elementary-aged students on a social-emotional or behavioral caseload Strength in fostering inclusive, supportive classroom environments Master's Degree in Special Education or a related field (preferred) Strong communication and collaboration skills with peers, families, and support staff In this role, you will: Deliver engaging and individualized instruction to students in grades 3-5 within a self-contained setting Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support professionals to promote student growth Use evidence-based practices to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs Maintain thorough documentation and communication with families and staff If you thrive on making a difference in students' lives and value professional growth in a vibrant educational community, this is a fantastic opportunity.
