e2112-06053 Job Description Empower students to reach their fullest potential by supporting a child as a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired in a welcoming school environment near New Britain, CT. This full-time, on-site contract opportunity is designed for an educator ready to make a tangible impact through 1:1 pediatric instructionideal for those with a passion for fostering independence and confidence in visually impaired students.
Qualifications and Experience Needed:
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) required in a related field Current state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Strong experience or genuine interest in working 1:1 with pediatric populations Previous school-based or special education experience preferred Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with families, specialists, and school staff Compassionate, patient, and resourceful approach to individualized instruction
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and tailored support for a student with visual impairments, using evidence-based strategies and adaptive technology Work closely with the students educational team to implement and regularly update individualized education plans (IEPs) Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment while promoting self-advocacy and social-emotional growth Communicate observations and progress clearly to parents, staff, and related service providers Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development as needed
