Job Description
Floating Teacher Growing Minds Collective Norwalk, CT Job Details Part-time From $18 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications CPR Certification Maintaining an organized workspace Teacher collaboration Early childhood education High school diploma or GED First Aid Certification Clean workspace maintenance Full Job Description Join Our Team & Grow With Us! We're looking for an educator who sees early childhood education as more than a job—someone who is passionate about child development, values meaningful relationships with children and families, and is excited to grow alongside an evolving program. This Floater position is starting at approximately 8 hours per week (Tuesdays 3:15pm to 5:30pm and Thursdays 12:00pm to 5:30pm), with the opportunity for those hours to increase as our enrollment grows and we expand our program. For the right person, there is also potential to transition into a more consistent Assistant Teacher role as we continue through our expansion. We anticipate a hire date of November 1, 2026, but could be sooner depending on when we are granted our new license from the CT OEC. We believe the best educators are lifelong learners who bring curiosity, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit to their work. As Growing Minds Collective grows from a family child care program into a larger early childhood education program, you'll have the opportunity to grow with us and become part of our team for the long term. Our vision extends beyond traditional early childhood programming to include expanded infant and preschool offerings, companion & me classes, K-2 learning pods, and other educational opportunities designed to support children and families throughout the early years. If you're looking for a meaningful opportunity to get to know our program, contribute to our classrooms, and potentially grow into a larger role over time, we'd love to hear from you! Job Summary Growing Minds Collective is a private nature-based early childhood education program serving children ages 6 months to 5 years. Rooted in nature with a play-centered philosophy, our program blends inspiration from the Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and Waldorf approaches to create a joyful, child-led learning environment where curiosity, creativity, and meaningful relationships thrive. We are entering an exciting new chapter as we transition from a licensed family childcare program to a licensed group childcare home, increasing our enrollment capacity and expanding our impact within the community. As our program grows, we remain committed to maintaining the close-knit culture, low teacher-to-child ratios, and individualized approach that have become the foundation of Growing Minds Collective.
