Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference every day by supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic educational environment near Ridgefield, CT. For the 2026-2027 school year, you'll inspire growth and foster independence for learners within both resource and co-teaching settings. This is a full-time, contract opportunity running from August 24, 2026 through June 24, 2027, with hours from 7:30 am to 2:40 pm.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility for certification) Previous experience with high school resource programs and co-teaching models preferred Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Commitment to creating inclusive, engaging classroom environments

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized instruction aligned with students' IEPs in both resource room and co-teaching settings Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and modify instruction Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed Engage in IEP meetings, providing insights and thoughtful recommendations Liaise with parents and support staff to ensure coordinated approaches to student success Foster a positive, respectful atmosphere, supporting both academic and social-emotional growth By stepping into this role, you'll have the opportunity to truly impact lives, working with a dedicated team and a supportive school community.
