Desired Qualifications:
Possession of a valid Virginia or Maryland teaching license; expired DC licenses will also be considered Experience working in resource or special education settings preferred Demonstrated strengths in classroom management and effective communication Skill in collaborating with general education teachers, families, and support staff to foster student success Commitment to inclusivity and differentiated instruction for diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver individualized instruction for students in 4th and 6th grade, based on IEP goals and best practices Support students academic, social, and behavioral growth within the resource classroom and through push-in or pull-out services as appropriate Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and report regularly to families and school teams Contribute to IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and ongoing case management duties Foster a supportive, positive, and structured learning environment Collaborate with colleagues to adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs This position provides the rewarding opportunity to help shape students educational experiences while working alongside dedicated professionals for the entire school year.
