9598379-20373 Job Description Make an impact in the lives of young learners by supporting students with autism at an innovative elementary school near Naval Anacost Annex, DC. Two high-need positions are available for contract special education teachers with demonstrated expertise working alongside K-5th grade students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The role offers a unique opportunity to join a dedicated team, with a focus on individualized support in a small, nurturing classroom environment.

What Were Looking For:

Experience teaching or supporting elementary-aged students (K-5) with Autism Spectrum Disorder Demonstrated skill in delivering individualized accommodations, academic instruction, and behavioral support Commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments and collaborating with general education staff Ability to communicate effectively with families, students, and interdisciplinary teams Adaptability and a compassionate approach to meeting diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

Provide specialized academic and behavioral instruction in alignment with student IEPs Foster a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom culture for a caseload of 8-10 students Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related services, and general education teachers Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate, timely documentation on student progress Contribute to a team-focused approach with school leaders and special education professionals Engage in preservice training before the school year begins, from 8/10/26 8/21/26

Work Details:

School calendar schedule: Monday Friday, 8am 4pm Contract duration runs from August 2026 through June 2027 Consistent assignment at a single campus site Take your next step in special education by supporting a community that values expertise and collaboration.
