Job Description
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Ability to work with K-12 students across various disabilities and learning needs Strong understanding of IEPs and the development/implementation process Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families Organized, adaptable, and dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment Prior experience in a school setting preferred, but enthusiastic new graduates are welcome to applyKey Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with diverse needs in accordance with each IEP Adapt and tailor lesson plans to accommodate various learning styles and capabilities Create a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service staff Maintain accurate student records and track progress Communicate regularly with families and participate in IEP meetingsBenefits:

A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.
