9646009-19805 Job Description A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a high school Special Education Teacher in the Wilmington, DE area for the 2026-2027 school year. This position features a dedicated high school caseload and requires a professional who can confidently manage student cases while also bringing expertise in teaching special education social studies. Working hours are approximately 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM, for 35-40 hours per week.

Qualifications:

Active or pending Delaware Special Education Teacher certification is required Experience managing high school special education caseloads preferred Ability to instruct special education social studies Spanish language skills are valued but not required Comfortable working on site and able to pass a drug screen and background check

Responsibilities:

Oversee a high school caseload, ensuring students IEPs are implemented and documented with fidelity Serve as case manager, maintaining communication with teachers, parents, and support teams Deliver engaging instruction in special education social studies tailored to diverse learning needs Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate in developing plans to support student growth Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages academic and personal development
