9607114-19734 Job Description Step into a pivotal role supporting students, families, and school teams as a Special Education leader in a vibrant educational environment near Townsend, DE. In this unique opportunity, you'll leverage your expertise to ensure high-quality, compliant special education services for all learners. While formally categorized as a teaching position, this opening offers a significant leadership componentideal for experienced educators ready to expand their impact. Your days will be spent collaborating with a dedicated community of teachers, administrators, and families to coordinate and facilitate IEP and ESR meetings. You will be the point person for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all IEPs and special education documents, as well as a resource and mentor to other staff involved in the process. This position includes the satisfaction of guiding teams toward best practices in meeting students individual needs and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification (state requirements apply) Strong foundation in IEP development, documentation, and compliance Previous experience teaching or leading within special education settings Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Confidence in working collaboratively with teachers, families, and school leadership Commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate and schedule IEP/ESR meetings, ensuring all required participants are involved Maintain up-to-date, compliant documentation for all students served Serve as a liaison between various stakeholders to coordinate services Provide guidance and support to teaching teams regarding best special education practices Monitor and help implement student accommodations and modifications Stay informed on policy changes and share relevant updates with school staff This position offers opportunities to grow professionally while making an important contribution to students and colleagues.
