Job Summary:
This is an instructional position responsible for the guidance, direction, and educational leadership of students placed in LiFT's integrative K-12 educational program. The educational leader is expected to understand and demonstrate the use of curriculum, instruction, academic and behavioral accommodations, assessments, and improvement models to maximize the educational achievement for all students; work collaboratively to ensure a working and learning climate for all students that is safe, secure, and respectful of diversity.
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; Master's Degree preferred.
Certified:
Valid Florida Teaching Certificate, ESE endorsement
Experience:
Experience with instruction of neurodiverse students Experience in the following disciplines: lesson planning, assessment practices, classroom management, research-based behavior interventions, research-based learning strategies, experiential instructional strategies, sensory integration techniques, and data driven decision making. Experience in curriculum development and accommodations for special education students. Experience with and implementation of Service Plans preferred.
Competencies:
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Ability to foster a deep understanding of the rules and regulations written in the Student Handbook. Possesses strong organizational skills and reflects the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail. Possess the ability to prioritize tasks, practice time management, and multi-task efficiently. Possesses strong attention to detail and follows through. Ability to impartially investigate concerns and recommend a course of action to resolve the issue. Ability to provide direction to others and make independent judgments, keep and maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, and communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds. Strong ability to proficiently use the following programs: Renweb (FACTS SIS), Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams. Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and materials either written or oral. Classroom teacher's supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to the performance, planning, intervention strategies, instruction, safety, and educational and behavioral achievements for their students. Furthermore, in conjunction with the Principal of LiFT Academy and/or designee, classroom teachers are responsible for the supervision of the teaching assistant in their assigned classroom by providing direction and input on the classroom Assistant's performance evaluations.
