9601348-34711 Job Description Make a lasting impact by providing vital support to students with visual impairments across multiple schools. This contract role offers the chance to serve K-12 learners in a dynamic, itinerant settingsupporting approximately 22 students across up to 13 schools. The district will work collaboratively with you to design a schedule that accommodates both your preferences and the service needs, and the main office will serve as your home base for convenience. Some responsibilities involve periodic on-site travel, while many services may be consultative or virtual.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Florida Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license and OMS Certification (required) Strong testing background and comfort with performing student screenings Experience in school-based settings highly preferred, though not mandatory Ability to deliver both direct and indirect (consultative) services Preparedness to provide services for a diverse K-12 caseload
Role Responsibilities:
Travel to assigned schools (23 daily) to provide services to visually impaired students Design and implement educational strategies tailored to individual student needs Conduct vision screenings and assessments as required Collaborate with school staff, families, and district personnel Document student progress and participate in eligibility and progress determination meetings Deliver both one-on-one direct instruction and periodic consultative services, some of which may be monthly
