A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Teacher to join our early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children. Your enthusiasm for early childhood education will inspire children to explore, learn, and grow while ensuring they receive high-quality instruction aligned with developmental standards. Duties Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans that support early childhood development, literacy, math, and physical education. Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management. Conduct assessments of children's progress through observations and standardized testing to tailor instruction effectively. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's development, milestones, and classroom activities. Manage classroom routines, behavior expectations, and transitions smoothly to foster a productive learning atmosphere. Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support children with diverse needs. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of student progress and incidents. Commitment to staying informed and up to date on child development, preschool standards, required trainings, health and safety practices, and age appropriate teaching strategies. Ability to follow current licensing requirements, transportation procedures, ability to keep up with classroom observations and provide support based on each child's needs and development. Experience Demonstrated knowledge of child development principles, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques. Familiarity with special education practices, behavior management strategies, and early intervention programs. Ability to safely and confidently drive a 15 passenger preschool van. Pay:
$16.50 - $19.00 per hour
