  • Bachelor's Degree (Elementary Education Preferred)
  • Teaching Certification (Valid Florida Statement of Status of Eligibility, Temporary, or Professional Certificate) in Elementary Education
  • ESOL, Reading, and/or Gifted Endorsements (Preferred not required).
  • Must pass background checks.
Duties and Responsibilities The classroom teacher will work under the supervision and mentorship of the Principal and Master Teachers, offering opportunities to learn and grow. Teachers are expected to provide the highest quality care and supervision to students and plan lessons to educate students at all levels. Teachers must be able to instruct a variety of subjects and reach students with engaging lessons. Master Teachers and experienced school leaders work to provide highly effective instruction to students as well as assist with school-wide support as needed during the regular school day and for the extended day program. The position allows an inspiring teacher to gain new skills and implement them while working collaboratively with an experienced team of teachers and leaders. The teacher will be responsible for small group instructional responsibilities, including the academic achievement extended day program.
Performance Responsibilities:
  • Plan lessons and instruct students in various subjects.
  • Assess students' abilities, strengths and weakness.
  • Communicate with parents about students' progress.
  • Support a climate hospitable to education.
  • Support academic improvement and instruction.
  • Collaborate with people and processes.
  • Work independently to ensure that assigned projects are followed through.
  • Work collaboratively with senior management to listen, learn, and follow policy.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Accept redirection and work towards self-improvement as needed.
  • Support the Academic Enrichment program, including creating lesson plans for instruction.
  • Support the academic pull-out program that requires working with students one-on-one or in small groups to further their academic success.
  • Attending all related staff meetings and administrative training.
  • Perform and promote all activities in compliance with the equal opportunity employment and nondiscrimination policy of the Board.
  • Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase the individual's skill and proficiency related to the assignments.
  • Review current developments, literature, and technical source of information related to job responsibility.
  • Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
  • Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
