For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

ESE Teacher K-12 Florida Educator Certificate with coverage in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and Reading is required. This assignment will be at Jefferson County K-12 in Monticello Florida. This position is full-time (7.5 hours per day) with a starting salary of $48,500 with additional compensation based on experience and qualifications. These positions are responsible for facilitating effective lessons for students living with physical, intellectual, emotional, and/or learning disabilities. These positions will work with the leadership team to design activities that will help students achieve their specific learning goals. These positions contribute to the academic, social and behavioral development of their students and assist in the development and implementation of the student's individualized educational program (IEP). These positions will also work closely with student families and ESE specialists to make recommendations that help promote learning and life skills. ESE teachers will also support general education teachers to adapt curriculum or learning materials and teaching techniques that meet the needs of any students in the classroom living with a disability.
