Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful educational environment where your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired can have a direct and lasting impact. A dedicated part-time opportunity awaits, supporting two students in 3rd and 5th grade. As a valued member of a passionate educational team, you'll help foster both academic and personal growth for these young learners. This contract role is scheduled from August 12, 2025 to June 1, 2026, working just 2-3 hours per day, making it an excellent fit for professionals seeking flexibility while delivering highly specialized instruction and support.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Proven experience in adapting curriculum and materials for students with visual impairments Understanding of Braille and accessible technology Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff Ability to develop individualized education plans and document progress
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and accommodations for two students in 3rd and 5th grade Adapt educational materials and utilize assistive technology to ensure access to the curriculum Collaborate with classroom teachers and other professionals to support student success Monitor student progress and maintain thorough records in compliance with educational best practices Engage actively with families to ensure a supportive learning environment
