Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Special Education Resource Teacher to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will provide tailored instructional support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, hearing impairments, visual impairments, and other special needs. Your expertise will help create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic growth, social-emotional development, and independence for all students. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with state regulations and student needs. Deliver specialized instruction in core subjects such as literacy, math, and social skills using evidence-based strategies. Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, parents, and support staff to coordinate instructional modifications and behavioral interventions. Utilize educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences and monitor student progress effectively. Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management plans tailored for students with disabilities. Provide training and mentoring to classroom staff on inclusive practices, instructional modifications, and compliance standards. Skills Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and educational compliance standards. Proficiency in curriculum development tailored for students with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), hearing impairments, visual impairments, and early childhood education. Experience working with individuals with disabilities across various age groups in both classroom and one-on-one settings. Expertise in behavioral therapy techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral health strategies, and behavior management for students with special needs. Familiarity with speech therapy practices, music therapy integration, recreational therapy, and other therapeutic modalities. Ability to utilize learning technology and educational software to support differentiated instruction. Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement, team collaboration, and interdisciplinary coordination. Classroom management skills combined with a compassionate approach to working with children from diverse backgrounds.
