PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION
To provide a quality Christian education for students through the use of a variety of curricula and the implementation of developmentally appropriate teaching methods and activities to instruct the class, while maintaining a safe and warm environment for the children. Positive and loving interactions with students, parents and staff is essential. The elementary teacher is called to exemplify a life of Christ-like morals and service in both our school & community. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Work in collaboration with the administration, instructional coaches & peers to provide a Christ-centered education to our students. Write and implement developmentally appropriate, multi-sensory lesson plans. Communicate with parents by way of an informative monthly newsletter. Post lesson plans in your classroom weekly, and turn in newsletters and lesson plans to supervisor every Friday. Maintain a neat, organized classroom which offers an inviting learning environment. Follow a daily schedule, however, remain flexible to meet the needs of the children and the school. Be involved in the development and implementation of educational goals and curriculum. Maintain accurate information about the educational progress of each child. Regularly update parents about the progress of their child. Communicate educational concerns promptly and lovingly with parents. Hold conferences with parents each quarter/trimester following distribution of report cards and also on an as-needed basis throughout the year. Maintain classroom discipline. Guide and redirect inappropriate behavior. Communicate with administration regarding any discipline problems. Maintain constant supervision of children, ensuring the safety of all children at all times. Maintain confidentiality regarding student, employee, and school matters. Work cooperatively with all faculty and staff. Work as a member of an educational "team" administration. Communicate any concerns about children's safety or welfare to Administration Other duties: Attend scheduled staff meetings, open houses, or other special SCA activities. Maintain required training required for continuous certification through FLDOE & CPR and First Aid training.
Qualifications:
A close walk with God is the prerequisite for representing Jesus Christ in the classroom and throughout the school, as demonstrated by active church membership and lifestyle which is consistent with biblical principles and moral commandments. A positive attitude, cheerful demeanor, servant's heart, and the ability to be flexible required. A minimum of 3 years experience as a lead teacher in grade level specified preferred.
B.A./B.S.
in Elementary Education or related field PLUS a valid Florida State Teaching Certificate required.
