This position is for our Older Ones/Young Twos classroom, serving children approximately 20 months old through age 2. Our classrooms are designed to be much more than childcare. We believe even our youngest students thrive in an engaging, structured school environment where they are encouraged to explore, communicate, create, and become increasingly independent.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00

PM Classroom:

12 children with 2 teachers About the Position As the Lead Teacher, you will take an active role in creating a fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Our Older Ones/Young Twos remain together throughout the school year, allowing teachers to build strong relationships with their students and support them through an exciting period of growth and development. Our school provides its own curriculum and weekly themes, while giving teachers the opportunity to be creative in how those themes come to life in their classroom. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with young children and is excited to plan activities—not someone who simply supervises the room.

Responsibilities Include:

Creating and implementing engaging, age-appropriate activities based on our curriculum and weekly themes Leading circle time, art, sensory activities, early language activities, music and movement, and hands-on learning experiences Introducing early concepts such as colors, shapes, vocabulary, and following simple directions through play Encouraging fine motor, gross motor, social-emotional, and language development Promoting independence and helping children learn classroom routines and self-help skills Actively interacting and playing with children throughout the day Assisting with diapering and introducing/supporting potty training as children become developmentally ready Supervising meals, snacks, nap time, playground time, and classroom transitions Maintaining a clean, organized, safe, and inviting classroom Completing daily cleaning and sanitizing responsibilities Providing parents with regular photos and classroom updates through Procare Building positive relationships with families and providing professional, consistent parent communication Working closely with your co-teacher and the administrative team to provide excellent care and education Requirements DCF 45 Hours MUST be completed Minimum of 1 year of classroom experience is required Previous experience working with toddlers/one-year-olds strongly preferred CDA or equivalent credential preferred Must be dependable, energetic, patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic Must be comfortable with diapering and potty training Strong communication and classroom-management skills Must be willing to actively participate with children throughout the day and bring creativity and enthusiasm into the classroom Why Children's University?
