This full-time, contract position offers a dynamic blend of flexible virtual services (VOCO) paired with periodic on-site travel throughout the Tavares area. Youll be collaborating closely with a supportive school district, working itinerantly across up to 13 campuses, providing essential services to approximately 1520 K-12 students. What you'll bring: Valid Florida Teaching License as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Current Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) Certification (required) Strong background in educational assessments and screenings Experience in both direct and consultative student services School-based experience preferred, but passionate new candidates considered Excellent organizational and communication skills to support a multi-site caseload Key responsibilities: Deliver itinerant services, traveling to 23 schools daily as scheduled with your input for optimal commuting Design and implement instruction and interventions for visually impaired students, K-12 Conduct vision screenings, functional vision assessments, and provide orientation and mobility training Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support Maintain student records, manage timesheets, and participate in required onboarding procedures Coordinate with district staff regarding schedules and consultative services As a valued professional, youll enjoy a consistently structured week (35 hours, 8:00 am3:30 pm), opportunities for virtual service delivery, and the chance to truly impact the lives of students across a well-supported district.
