Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract An exciting contract position is available for skilled Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) with Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification, designed for passionate educators who can provide support for K-12 students. This opportunity is located near The Villages, FL, and is perfect for travel professionals ready to make a lasting impact in a region where your expertise is in high demand. The position covers a full-time schedule (35 hours per week, 8:00am - 3:30pm, with a 30-minute unpaid break), for the 2026-2027 school year (August 3, 2026-May 28, 2027). You'll have an itinerant role, supporting 15-20 students across up to 13 schools, offering direct and consultative services. The district office serves as your home base, and travel between schools is required. Flexible weekly scheduling will be arranged collaboratively.

Qualifications:

Professional Florida TVI License required OMS Certification required Experience in school settings strongly preferred, though not required Willingness to travel between multiple school sites Strong communication, consultation, and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

Deliver direct and indirect support to K-12 students Provide monthly consultative services as needed Develop and implement individualized instructional plans Maintain documentation and collaborate with educational teams Travel between assigned schools, manage caseload, and schedule efficiently District onboarding involves a streamlined, two-part process, including badge issuance and completion of required forms. Prescreen interviews may be conducted to ensure a good fit for the role.
