Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Empower students with visual impairments to thrive academically and personally in this impactful, full-time, contract-based opportunity in the Winter Garden, FL region. This position focuses on providing tailored support across multiple schools as an Itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) with Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification. You'll collaborate closely with faculty and families while building personalized schedules that balance on-site presence with flexibility.

Key Qualifications & Experience Sought:

Valid Florida Professional Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license Current Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification

Preferred:

Prior school-based experience supporting K-12 students (not required) Ability to travel between multiple schools in the district (travel professionals encouraged to apply) Strong skills in crafting both direct and consultative instructional services

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction and consultative services to K-12 students with visual impairments (caseload: 15-20 students) Serve 2-3 schools per day (itinerant over 13 total schools with home base at district main office) Develop and adapt curriculum materials to support accessibility and student success Collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams, families, and support staff Maintain and update student progress, participate in IEP meetings, and ensure all service documentation is thorough Engage in regular communication with school sites and district personnel

Additional Details:
