Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a significant impact in the lives of students as a school-based Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a supportive educational environment near Habersham, GA. This contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year and centers on providing essential services to students with visual impairments. You'll collaborate closely with colleagues, participate in pivotal IEP meetings, and empower students through Braille and expanded core curriculum instruction.
Key Qualifications:
Active Georgia TVI licensure/certification Current Georgia Educator Certificate Demonstrated success in school-based settings supporting students with visual impairments Experience with Braille instruction and expanded core curriculum Comfortable supporting students in-person, including those in ASD or severe needs classrooms Reliable transportation for onsite responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct TVI services to students, utilizing best practices and individualized strategies Participate and contribute meaningfully in IEP meetings, providing consultative and instructional input Collect and monitor student progress data, adjusting instructional plans as needed Instruct in Braille and expanded core competencies, helping students gain critical independence skills Accurately complete Medicaid billing where applicable, ensuring compliance with district requirements Foster communication with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams Maintain documentation and compliance with state and district mandates Enjoy the flexibility of a school-year calendar (up to 30 hours per week), working in an environment where your expertise truly matters.
