Job Description

Make a meaningful difference as a dedicated special education teacher working with a small group of K-2 students, many of whom are non-verbal and have adaptive needs. This contract opportunity is a full-time, onsite role that offers the chance to provide targeted instruction and individualized support to help each child thrive academically and socially. The position runs through May 21, 2027, providing long-term stability and the opportunity to develop strong relationships with students in a nurturing classroom environment. Successful candidates will bring the following: Active Georgia Special Education Teacher license with endorsement in Adaptive Curriculum Mandatory Georgia Adaptive certifications Experience teaching students with autism or significant adaptive needs (preferred) Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Patience, creativity, and effective communication skills, especially supporting non-verbal students Strong collaboration skills to work with fellow educators, aides, and families Your responsibilities will include: Designing lesson plans tailored to individual student needs in a small classroom setting Providing direct instruction, behavioral interventions, and social-emotional support for K-2 learners with autism Utilizing adaptive curriculum tools and alternative communication methods to engage non-verbal students Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of student progress and IEP goals Fostering an inclusive, structured, and encouraging classroom culture You'll play a vital role as an onsite educator, providing the individualized attention and consistency these students deserve.
