Key Qualifications:
Active GaPSC Special Education (Consultative P-12) Teaching Endorsement is required. Previous experience or strong understanding of co-teaching models and inclusion settings. Knowledge of instructional strategies for students with Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, and EBD. Familiarity with behavior intervention plans and IEP processes. Commitment to fostering a positive, structured classroom atmosphere.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Co-teach Math and Science for 6th grade students, as well as ELA and Science for grades 7 and 8. Adapt curriculum, support learning goals, and provide differentiated instruction to small caseloads (1012 students per grade). Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure each student's needs are met. Implement and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior plans where required. Support student transitions to middle school and promote positive peer relationships. Actively engage in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development.
