Job Description

Make a meaningful difference every day in a dynamic Special Education Pre-K program serving children ages 3 to 5 with diverse learning needs. Located near Dalton, GA, this full-time contract opportunity offers a chance to support students as they develop foundational skills to set them up for future success. In this role, you'll engage directly with young learners, many of whom are non-verbal or minimally verbal and require assistance with feeding, behavior management, and toilet training or diapering. You'll partner with staff and families to create individualized learning experiences in a caring, structured environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with Special and General Education Endorsements for Pre-K Experience or strong desire to work with children who have developmental, cognitive, or behavioral differences Adaptability and patience with students requiring hands-on support, including assistance with toileting/diapering and feeding Strong communication skills with parents, caregivers, and staff Ability to implement and adapt individualized education programs (IEPs) Commitment through May 21, 2027
What You'll Do:
Deliver instruction tailored to diverse Pre-K learning needs in a collaborative classroom Support students in developing social, self-help, and foundational academic skills Assist with behavior management and communication strategies for non-verbal students Provide hands-on care including feeding and toileting/diapering Work constructively with other educators, therapists, and families to ensure each childs growth Maintain documentation for student progress and IEP meetings Be part of a supportive school that values every childs potential.
