Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful teaching opportunity supporting young learners in a specialized Pre-K setting. This contract position welcomes passionate Special Education professionals to make a real difference in the lives of children aged 3 to 5 with varying developmental needs. The role offers a full-time schedule (37.5 hours per week) for the remainder of the current school year through May 21, 2027. As part of this dynamic classroom, you'll guide and nurture students working on toileting and feeding skills, many of whom are non-verbal or minimally verbal and may display challenging behaviors. Your expertise will help foster growth, communication, and independence in a supportive environment equipped to meet these unique needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current GaPSC Teaching Certificate with Special Education and General Education Endorsements for Pre-K age groups Previous experience teaching children with special needs, particularly in early childhood settings, is highly valued Strong understanding of individualized educational practices and behavior management Compassionate, patient, and adaptable with excellent communication skills Comfortable assisting with toileting, diapering, and feeding
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specially designed instruction tailored to each child's IEP goals Support developmental milestones, communication, and social-emotional learning Assist students with toileting, diapering, and feeding as needed Implement effective behavior management strategies Collaborate with families, related service providers, and school staff to ensure holistic support Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development Bring your dedication to early childhood special education to a rewarding, supportive role where you can inspire and make an impact every school day.
