Job Description

Passionate about supporting students with visual impairments? An opportunity awaits for a skilled Teacher of the Visually Impaired to make a meaningful difference in an educational setting. This contract role is based in a vibrant school district and is ideal for a dedicated professional who thrives in a collaborative, student-centered environment. This position is full-time (37.5 hours per week), with consideration for part-time hours based on availability and district needs. The assignment runs from early August 2026 through late May 2027, potentially including some pre- or post-planning days. The district is attentive to matching each teachers background and preferences to an appropriate caseload after discussing interests and experience in the interview.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Georgia Educator Certificate for Teachers of the Visually Impaired Previous experience teaching students with visual impairments preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Comfortable maintaining detailed daily service documentation Flexible and adaptable to meet the unique needs of students Openness to discussing preferred age groups and experience during the interview
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments Develop and implement individualized education plans in collaboration with school staff and families Complete daily logs documenting services and student progress Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment Communicate with school staff, parents, and other stakeholders as needed
