Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a real difference this summer by supporting a student's educational journey in a specialized setting. This unique contract role is perfect for a Special Education Teacher seeking a rewarding opportunity to impact a homebound learner's life during summer school. Collaborate closely with a team of highly skilled virtual professionals—including occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology—to create a supportive and holistic learning environment. You'll have the added support of an onsite paraprofessional who will help facilitate the student's experience and enhance your ability to deliver quality instruction. This position runs from June 1st to July 16th, with a focused daily schedule from 11:45am to 2:45pm, allowing you to maintain summer flexibility while making a positive impact.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification in Special Education (applicable state certification required) Previous experience teaching or supporting students with diverse learning needs Ability to collaborate effectively with remote therapists and onsite staff Creative, adaptive instructional strategies tailored to individual learners Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Your Role:
Provide individualized education in accordance with IEPs and student needs Collaborate virtually with OT, PT, and SLP professionals to ensure comprehensive support Engage and motivate the student with engaging, accessible lesson planning Partner with the onsite paraprofessional for seamless instructional delivery Monitor progress and maintain clear, ongoing communication with the broader team This summer school role combines direct teaching with the unique opportunity to expand your collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary model—and still leaves plenty of your summer open.
