Job Description

Make a real difference in students' lives by supporting young learners with diverse needs in an inclusive elementary school environment. This full-time contract role focuses on providing specialized instruction in a collaborative classroom setting, guiding students in PreK through 2nd gradeprimarily first and second graderswith a range of behavioral and developmental profiles, including autism, learning disabilities, and speech/language delays.
Key Qualifications:
Current Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) teaching license P-12 Special Education endorsement Dyslexia endorsement (required for this role) Experience or strong interest in working with students exhibiting developmental delays, autism, speech/language needs, or self-regulation challenges Commitment to a nurturing, student-centered approach and effective classroom management in an inclusion setting
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted special education instruction and supports to a caseload of approximately 8-10 elementary students Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to optimize inclusion strategies and student outcomes Monitor and document individualized student progress on IEP goals, including those focused on academic, behavioral, and self-care objectives Provide supervision for one student with a toileting goal (no diapering or changing required; supervision only) Maintain communication and strong relationships with families and school personnel Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom community This assignment begins July 29th and runs through May 21st, 2027, with full-time hours (37.5 hours per week) and the opportunity to participate in pre-planning days.
