Job Description

Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners by providing essential special education services at an elementary school in the Ringgold, GA area. This contract position offers the opportunity to impact the academic and personal growth of a diverse group of students in an inclusive PreK2nd grade setting, with the primary focus on 1st and 2nd graders. As a valued team member, you'll work full-time (37.5 hours per week), starting with pre-planning days on July 29th and continuing through May 21st, 2027. Your classroom will serve approximately 810 students with a range of needs, including autism, significant developmental delays, speech and language challenges, self-regulation issues, and learning disabilities. Your expertise is critical in helping them reach important milestones and gain confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
Qualifications:
Current Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Teaching License P-12 Special Education (SPED) endorsement required Dyslexia endorsement required Demonstrated ability to support children with diverse developmental and learning needs Experience working collaboratively in inclusive elementary classroom settings preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Differentiate lessons and adapt curriculum for students with special needs within an inclusion model Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and paraeducators Monitor student progress, document growth, and communicate with families regularly Supervise toileting tasks as needed (no diapering; one student receives supervision for toileting goals) This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with a supportive school community, gain valuable experience, and change lives.
