What they do
A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide loving, attentive care for children ages 1-3 years.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based learning activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom that meets all state licensing requirements.
- Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Communicate professionally with families regarding their child's daily activities and progress.
- Complete daily documentation, including meals, diapering, potty training, naps, and classroom activities.
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and administration.
- Follow all company policies and Georgia Bright from the Start regulations.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required (additional early childhood education is a plus).
- Experience working with young children is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Must pass all required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred or must be obtained upon hire.
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and a positive attitude are essential.
