Job Description

Make a lasting impact as a Special Education Teacher in an engaging inclusion setting serving elementary students. This full-time position runs from July 29th through May 21st, 2027, including pre-planning days, and offers an opportunity to support a diverse group of young learners in a collaborative educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
Current GaPSC Teaching License with a P-12 Special Education endorsement Dyslexia endorsement required Experience or interest in working with PreK-2nd grade students, especially 1st and 2nd grade Understanding of learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, developmental and speech/language delays, and self-regulation needs Commitment to inclusive practices and teamwork with general education teachers
Position Details:
Full-time:
37.5 hours per week
Caseload:
8-10 students in an inclusion classroom Age group focus: Primarily 1st-2nd grade, with some Kindergarten students possible Behaviors supported: Autism, significant developmental delays, speech/language delays, self-regulation challenges, and learning disabilities
Toileting:
No routine diapering or toileting; however, supervision may be needed for one student with a toileting goal
Responsibilities:
Provide differentiated instruction, academic and behavioral interventions in an inclusion classroom. Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to create personalized learning plans. Monitor, document, and report student progress toward IEP goals. Foster a positive, supportive environment that promotes growth and engagement for all students. Communicate effectively with families and school team members.
