Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive Pre-K program. This full-time contract opportunity runs from now through May 21st, 2027, and is designed for a compassionate educator eager to work with young learners in a specialized setting. Enjoy working closely with children ages 35, each presenting unique needs and abilities. Youll join a collaborative educational environment focused on creating positive growth and fostering independence for every child. The daily schedule spans 37.5 hours per week, providing consistency for both educators and students.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with appropriate Special and General Education Endorsements for Pre-K. Experience or genuine interest in working with students ages 35, preferably in a special education setting. Capacity to support students through major developmental milestones such as toileting, feeding, and communication. Ability to address challenging behaviors with patience, understanding, and evidence-based strategies. Skills in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging instruction and support in a special education Pre-K classroom. Assist students with toileting/diapering and feeding as needed. Develop and track individualized goals for academic, social, and behavioral growth. Communicate regularly with families, therapists, and school staff. Adapt teaching methods for non-verbal and minimally verbal learners.
