Dedicated Local Support You'll have a direct point of contact at Ro Health to assist with district communication, onboarding, credentialing, scheduling, and assignment-related questions. Meaningful School-Based Work Work directly with students and school teams while helping students access the instruction, accommodations, and support outlined in their educational plans. Position Overview As a Special Education Teacher, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Assignments may be available in a variety of K-12 settings, including: Special education classrooms Specialized instructional settings Inclusion classrooms Resource settings Mild to moderate support needs More intensive support needs Elementary, middle, and high school settings Specific grade level, classroom placement, caseload, schedule, and responsibilities will vary by school and district assignment. What You'll Do Provide individualized and small-group specialized instruction based on students' IEP goals. Implement accommodations, modifications, instructional strategies, and behavior supports. Develop, implement, monitor, and document student progress toward IEP goals. Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with school teams and families as appropriate. Maintain accurate student records and documentation in accordance with district and state requirements. Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and other members of the student's educational team. Support students in accessing the general education curriculum and participating meaningfully in the school environment. Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and supportive classroom environment. Use appropriate instructional and behavioral strategies to support students with diverse learning needs. Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student needs, progress, and concerns. Follow all district policies, procedures, and professional standards. Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications Required :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Current Georgia teaching certification appropriate for the special education assignment, as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) and the school district. Ability to meet all applicable federal, state, and local employment and credentialing requirements. Ability to successfully complete required background and employment screening. Must be at least 18 years of age. Commitment to professional standards and ethical practices in special education.
Preferred :
Georgia certification in Special Education General Curriculum (P-12). Georgia certification in Special Education Adapted Curriculum (P-12) or another appropriate special education field. Previous experience working with students with disabilities. Experience developing or implementing IEPs. Experience working in a K-12 school environment. Experience supporting students with behavioral, academic, communication, or developmental needs. Current CPR certification, if required for the specific assignment. Additional Compliance Requirements Depending on the school district and assignment, candidates may be required to provide: Georgia educator certification documentation GaPSC clearance/background requirements TB questionnaire, TB test, or other health documentation, if required Current health documentation, if required by the district CPR certification, if applicable to the assignment Required employment and onboarding documentation Any additional credentials or training required by the school district Savannah Area Opportunities Ro Health supports school-based staffing needs throughout Savannah and surrounding Chatham County communities. Assignment locations may include Savannah, Pooler, Garden City, Bloomingdale, and other areas depending on current district needs.
