Job Description

Step into a dynamic educational environment where your expertise as an onsite Sign Language Interpreter will make a daily impact. This contract position is based in a supportive K-12 setting near Valdosta, GA, and offers a full-time Monday through Friday schedule. You'll facilitate effective communication, provide essential access for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, and work closely with teachers—both general education and special education professionals—to help every learner thrive.
Qualifications:
EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is required Valid Educational Interpreter License issued by the GaPSC Previous experience interpreting for school-aged children or within educational settings Familiarity with K-12 classroom environments and the needs of diverse learners Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams Dedication to fostering inclusive and accessible learning outcomes
Responsibilities:
Deliver in-person sign language interpretation for students across general and special education classrooms Support student engagement and understanding through clear and accurate interpretation of classroom instruction, discussions, and school events Collaborate with educators, specialists, and support staff to ensure seamless communication and integration of services Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all school interactions Participate in meetings, IEPs, and other events as needed to support the educational team Adapt interpretation styles to suit individual student needs and classroom settings If you are passionate about supporting accessible education in a vibrant K-12 community, this opportunity offers a meaningful way to contribute your unique skills.
