Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary students by supporting learners in a dynamic special education environment. This full-time, contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated educator with a passion for working with students in a life skills program, primarily serving children on the autism spectrum.
What you bring:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification Experience or familiarity with SPED, particularly at the elementary level Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Skill in fostering a positive learning atmosphere for students with varying abilities Patience, adaptability, and creativity in classroom management Excellent communication skills for ongoing collaboration with families and school staff What you'll do: Deliver engaging, tailored instruction to elementary students, focusing on developing academic, functional, and social skills Adapt curricula and teaching methods to meet each student's unique needs Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and paraprofessionals to enhance student growth Collect, monitor, and assess data to document progress and inform instruction Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to celebrate progress and address any concerns Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment for all students This role offers the ability to work alongside a caring team for the full school year, providing consistency and positive impact for the students you serve.
