Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Deaf or Hard of Hearing Education Experience with a range of communication modalities (ASL, oral, total communication) Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, families, and specialists Dedication to creating supportive and accessible learning environments for students with hearing loss Effective interpersonal and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative special education services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple schools in the district Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to individual student needs Offer resources and professional development to classroom teachers and staff to support inclusive practice Partner with families to support student growth and communicate progress Utilize adaptive technology, visual aids, and customized lesson plans to maximize student engagement and achievement Advocate for accessibility and appropriate accommodations throughout the school community In this rewarding part-time position, you will actively contribute to the success and empowerment of students with diverse needs.
