This contract position offers the chance to make a significant impact by delivering specialized instruction while collaborating closely with general education staff. The assignment runs from ASAP to the end of the school year, with a weekly commitment of 32.75 hours—each day includes a dedicated lunch break and prep/planning period. As a vital part of the team, you'll work with a caseload of 10 students (5 in ELA, 5 in Math) who are primarily mainstreamed, engaging alongside their peers for academics, specials, lunch, and recess. Together with the general education teacher, you'll utilize a push-in model to provide support during Homeroom, ELA, and Math, helping students with IEP goals in reading and math reach their highest potential.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid and active Special Education teacher certification (LBS1). Previous experience working with middle school students, particularly in a co-taught or inclusion setting. Strong understanding of IEP implementation for reading and math objectives. Excellent collaboration skills to partner with general education staff and related service providers. Ability to foster an inclusive, positive, and engaging classroom environment.
