Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role that empowers high school students to achieve their fullest potential. We're looking for a committed Special Education Teacher to support grades 9-12 throughout the upcoming school year in a collaborative and inclusive environment. You'll provide both categorical instruction and co-teaching alongside general education teachers, making a difference for a diverse range of learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted special education instruction for students receiving services Teach one dedicated special education class Co-teach in inclusive classrooms with general education staff Support IEP implementation, accommodations, and student progress Partner with school teams, families, and related service providers Maintain thorough progress documentation and required records Attend IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary collaboration Utilize an 85-minute daily prep period for planning, paperwork, and teamwork
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Current Special Education teaching certification/licensure (required) Prior experience with high school students is a plus Effective communication and teamwork skills Commitment to nurturing an inclusive, supportive classroom Ability to address diverse learning and behavioral needs with creativity and patience

Full academic year contract position

August 17, 2026 |
End:
