Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher within a vibrant school community near Naperville, IL. This contract position runs the full academic year, offering you the opportunity to help shape lives and foster progress for students in grades 3 through 5. You'll work in a single school building, providing consistency and the chance to develop meaningful relationships with your students and colleagues.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience working with elementary-aged children, ideally grades 3-5 Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction Effective communication skills to partner with families, staff, and other professionals Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom climate

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of approximately 10 students, addressing a variety of learning needs Assess, plan, and implement individualized curriculum and interventions Develop and track student goals as outlined in IEPs, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations Liaise regularly with general education teachers and related service providers Foster strong family partnerships through regular communication and meetings Participate in professional development and school-based initiatives Embrace a fulfilling, full-time schedule where you can make a tangible impact every day.
