Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

Special Education resource teacher for K-2nd grade students. Must posses a LBS1 endorsement for grade levels K-2. Extremely organized, flexible, and excellent communication skills. This person must be able to prepare, adapt, and deliver instructional materials in a resource setting while collaborating well with general education teachers. The selected candidate will be expected to evaluate students' academic and behavioral progress, as well as, create and maintain student records, and prepare reports relative to the work.
