Job Description
Step into a meaningful role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming school environment near Tinley Park, IL. This full-time contract opportunity is designed for educators who are passionate about making a difference for students with unique learning needs in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. This assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through October 31, 2026. The standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. While alternative schedules may be accommodated, remote and hybrid options are not being considered at this time. You'll work in a self-contained instructional setting—not a multi-needs classroom—with a manageable caseload of 3 kindergarten and 2 first-grade students. What you'll bring: Valid state teaching certification in Special Education Experience or strong interest in working with kindergarten and first-grade students Skill in developing and delivering individualized lesson plans Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Commitment to fostering inclusion, growth, and academic success Day-to-day you'll: Create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) Adapt instruction based on student needs and progress Collaborate closely with a robust team that includes instructional-level, multi-needs, and resource-level special education teaching partners Work alongside paraeducator support for classroom management and student engagement Utilize a variety of instructional materials and resources This assignment offers a nurturing, team-oriented environment where you'll have daily support from experienced colleagues and access to ample teaching resources.
