Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact every day by supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school environment near Waukegan, IL. Qualifications and Experience:
Current Special Education teaching certification relevant to Illinois requirements Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong understanding of various learning disabilities and behavioral challenges Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including general education teachers, support staff, and families Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills Patience, creativity, and a commitment to adapting instruction for individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in accordance with district and state guidelines Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed to optimize learning outcomes Maintain detailed records and documentation as required Work closely with classroom assistants, therapists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated support Foster a positive, respectful classroom culture that encourages student engagement and independence Communicate regularly with families to share progress and strategies for continued learning Take pride in championing student success and join a supportive educational community dedicated to making a difference.
