Special Education Teacher - Anderson, Indiana

Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential support as a Special Education Teacher in a full-time, onsite position working in a self-contained classroom for students with mild disabilities. The role spans from early August 2026 through June 2027, offering a meaningful opportunity to contribute to student growth and success each day. This contract position covers 35 hours per week and is based in a supportive environment at an elementary school. You will join a dedicated community focused on creating a positive and accommodating learning space where every student is empowered to reach their potential.
Desired Qualifications:
Active Indiana teaching license in Special Education (screenshot verification required) Experience teaching in a self-contained setting preferred Commitment to supporting students with mild disabilities Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills Ability to foster an inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and small-group instruction to a class of approximately 12 students Develop and implement IEPs tailored to meet each student's unique needs Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families Maintain accurate records of student progress and document compliance Create a classroom atmosphere that encourages active learning and social development This opportunity is entirely onsite, allowing you to have a direct, daily impact in a close-knit school setting.
