Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling role supporting students in a self-contained classroom environment focused on learners with mild disabilities. As a full-time Special Education Teacher, you will make an immediate and lasting impact, utilizing your expertise in a welcoming school community. This contract position spans from now through December 18, 2026, offering a consistent 35-hour workweek in a middle school setting.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Indiana Special Education Teaching License (must provide a screenshot of active licensure) Experience working with students with mild disabilities in self-contained settings is preferred Familiarity with middle school curriculum and best practices for individualized instruction Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with fellow educators, staff, and families Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment Strong classroom management abilities and a proactive problem-solving mindset
Responsibilities Include:
Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs Delivering engaging lessons and differentiated instruction in a self-contained classroom Monitoring, assessing, and documenting student progress toward IEP goals Collaborating closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to coordinate services and supports Communicating regularly with families to ensure they are informed and engaged in their child's progress Maintaining accurate records in line with school policies and state requirements Immerse yourself in a school community that values your dedication and expertise as you help students thrive.
