Job Description

BDLC is currently looking for a full-time floating teacher! A floating teacher's main responsibility is substituting for teachers who are absent short-term or out for extended periods of time such as maternity leave. Floating teachers must be familiar with implementing developmentally appropriate activities and play experiences for children ages six weeks to five years . As this is a full-time 40 hour/week position , floating teachers can also step into classrooms as additional support when not filling in for an absent teacher. Job responsibilites include, but are not limited, to: Provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate care and education for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. Serve as a primary classroom teacher when regularly assigned teachers are absent due to illness, vacation, professional development, or other planned or unplanned absences. Follow and implement the classroom's established routines, curriculum, schedules, and individual care practices to provide consistency for children. Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment in accordance with program policies and licensing requirements. Complete all responsibilities expected of the classroom teacher, including supervision, diapering/toileting, feeding, rest-time routines, transitions, classroom organization, and documentation as applicable to the age group. Communicate effectively with classroom teaching teams, families, and program leadership to support continuity of care. Assist with classroom preparation, cleaning, organization, and other duties necessary to maintain a high-quality learning environment. Maintain flexibility and professionalism when moving between classrooms and responding to changing staffing needs. High School diploma required. CDA or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. Willingness to obtain CDA, at minimum, required . Must be willing to undergo a TB test, drug screen, and fingerprint background check upon hire.

Pay:
$16.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
