Job Description

50 Stars Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for an Elementary Behavior Self-Contained Classroom in Frankfort, IN . The ideal candidate will support elementary students with behavioral and emotional needs by providing specialized instruction, implementing behavior intervention strategies, and fostering a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment. Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction in an elementary self-contained behavior classroom. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and positive behavior support strategies. Create a structured classroom environment that promotes academic, social, and behavioral growth. Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation. Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, school psychologists, behavior specialists, related service providers, and families. Participate in Case Conference Committee (CCC) meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions. Ensure compliance with IDEA, Indiana Department of Education regulations, and district policies. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education or a related field. Valid Indiana Special Education Teaching License (or eligibility to obtain). Experience teaching in a self-contained behavior classroom or working with students with behavioral challenges is preferred. Strong classroom management, de-escalation, and behavior intervention skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Benefits Competitive compensation. Weekly direct deposit.
